Easy Upgrades For Used Apple Laptops
If you're worried about buying a used Apple laptop because you think you will need to upgrade it right away (and you'll probably want to), but you're afraid to crack open the laptop case you can stop worrying. The answer to your problem is to use USB add ons.
By using the USB ports on used Apple laptops you can increase your available storage, add a new CD-ROM drive or DVD drive. These items don't need to be internal to work with your used laptop.
Some older used Apple laptops don't have "plug and play" or "hot swapping" ability. This doesn't make them worthless though. All you need to do is buy a PCMCIA card that will slap right into your laptop's expansion port or buy USB and/or Firewire adapters. These are easy to use and if your operating system is fairly new, it will be able to recognize your add-ons without you needing to configure it yourself.
Almost any used Apple laptop can be made to perform like a new one. You can up your hard drive, your optical drives and do a lot more to expand the capabilities of a used laptop. So stop worrying and start adding on.
